After leading the Hurricanes to an undefeated regular season and a 11-1 overall record in 2013, Coach Kinnan has compiled an amazing 291-71 record. During Coach Kinnan's tenure at Manatee, the Hurricanes captured 5 state championships, two state runner-ups, 14 state semi-finalist and 19 district championships. Manatee became a national power under Coach Kinnan, appearing on ESPN and vaulting into the national rankings.
Under Coach Kinnan a record-breaking number of student athletes were able to obtain college scholarships. Coach Kinnan has received numerous honors over the years including the induction into the Florida Athletic Coaches Hall of Fame, Florida's All Century Coaching Team, Florida Coach of the Year, and Manatee High Schools Outstanding Alumni Award.
So, as we cheer the Hurricanes on at Joe Kinnan Field at Hawkins Stadium, we salute Coach Joe Kinnan for his dedication, passion, and commitment to excellence brought to Manatee High School.
